COMEDIC FIREWORKS HEAT UP THE SUMMER AT THE BROWARD CENTER AND THE PARKER

From comedy forged in the nation’s toughest clubs to humor sent around the world on social and streaming, the summer will heat up at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Parker with the red-hot comedy of Leslie Jones, Margaret Cho, Straight Up With Stassi, Jeff Leeson, Eric D'alessandro and Eric Neuman.
Three-time Emmy Award nominee, comedian and actress Leslie Jones performs at The Parker on Saturday, May 13 at 8 p.m. She is joined by Lenny Marcus, her co-host on the podcast, The Fckry, which can be heard on Apple Podcast and Spotify, among others. Jones was a cast member and writer for the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2014 to 2019 and is currently the host of Supermarket Sweep. In addition to her Showtime special, Problem Child, she has been a featured performer at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal and the Aspen Comedy Festival. Jones starred in Ghostbusters in 2016 and starred opposite Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall in Coming 2 America, which garnered a 2021 MTV Movie and TV Award for "Best Comedic Performance" and a 2021 People's Choice Award "Favorite Movie Star" nomination for Jones. She can currently be seen starring in Taika Waititi's pirate comedy series Our Flag Means Death for HBO Max. Part of the Truist Comedy Series, Margaret Cho: Live and Livid! brings the comic with more than a few albums and specials under her belt to The Parker on Thursday, May 18 at 8 p.m. More than anything else, Margaret Cho is unconditionally, unapologetically herself as she unleashes her unabashed, sure-fire humor to debunk such taboo subjects as sex, race, world politics, sexual orientation and womanhood. Her career highlights include: nine comedy specials; two musical/comedy albums; starring in I'm The One That I Want off-Broadway; the historic TV show All American Girl; the documentary #BeRobin; a role on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva; host of TLC's All About SEX; cohost of E!'s Fashion Police; and being a contestant on Dancing With the Stars and The Masked Singer. She is the winner of countless awards for comedy and acting as well as for her anti-racism, anti-bullying, homeless and gay rights efforts. This event may contain adult language or content. Straight Up With Stassi LIVE - The Mommy Dearest Tour with special guest Taylor Strecker arrives at The Parker on Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. Stassi may be pregnant, but she can still rally, and she’s ready to finally be reunited with her Khaleesis. The evening offers laughs, exclusive gossip and the fun of a glass (or five) of wine. Gasp at recent headlines during Pop Culture Hour live with Taylor Strecker, gush and commiserate with Stassi and Beau about family life during The Good The Bad The Baby and get real advice about relationship/friendship drama during a live Pour It Out segment! Combining traditional stand-up comedy with long form improv that makes every show unique, Jeff Leeson comes to the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center as part of the Truist Comedy Series on Saturday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. In addition to his newly released YouTube special, Sorry I'm Not Kevin Hart, Leeson has been featured in two comedy specials on Amazon Prime, The Bob & Tom Show and a Dry Bar Comedy Special as well as on Sirius XM radio, Spotify and iTunes. With more than 50 million views of his stand up online, Leeson is quickly becoming one of the most requested acts in North America. This event may contain adult language or content. New York native Eric D'Alessandro appears live in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center as part of the Truist Comedy Series on Saturday, July 15 at 8 p.m. Having grown up with a camera in his hand, D'Alessandro created a YouTube channel sharing original, timely and relatable content for the everyday American. His sketches featuring original characters like "Maria Marie," as well as impressions of celebrities and comedic covers of popular songs helped build a loyal fan base with millions of YouTube video views as well as 255,000+ Instagram and 477,000 TikTok followers. His recent video "Mask Off Remix (Walmart Diss)" went viral gaining more than 16 million views across all his platforms. This event may contain adult language or content. One of the fastest rising standup comedians in the U.S. comes to the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center as Eric Neuman performs on Friday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. His three albums and specials have all reached no. 1 on iTunes’ comedy charts: Nervous Lover, Just A Phase and But Enough about Me: A Crowd Work Album. In addition to making his late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Neuman appeared on Season 3 of Comedy Central's This Week at the Comedy Cellar and Season 1 of The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show on Netflix. Being able to find humor in everything, he was featured in The Jerusalem Post as "one of the Jewish comedians who stayed relevant during the Covid-19 pandemic."
