GRAMMY-WINNING GOSPEL STAR KIRK FRANKLIN
Published: Jul 10, 2019
FORT LAUDERDALE – Kirk Franklin’s Long Live Love Tour will make a stop with special guests Koryn Hawthorne and comedian Travele Judon at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Au Rene Theater.
Winner of 14 Grammy® Awards, Franklin is one of the brightest stars in contemporary gospel music. He has revolutionized gospel music by bridging the gap between the faith community and mainstream urban music culture, frequently collaborating with artists ranging from late Whitney Houston and Bono to Kanye West and Chance the Rapper.
Franklin recently became the first artist to simultaneously top all five Billboard gospel charts with his 13th studio album, Long Live Love, and its lead single, “Love Theory.” His recordings of “Lean on Me,” “Looking for You” and “I Smile” have also hit the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Franklin keeps pushing the envelope with his blend of hope and hip-hop beats. Recently, he co-produced, Tori Kelly’s first gospel album, Hiding Place, featuring the hit single “Never Alone” (which he also co-wrote and performed). Franklin continues to serve as executive producer and host for BET’s top-rated musical competition series Sunday Best, in addition to helming Kirk Franklin’s Praise channel on Sirius XM Radio.
