SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER CAMP! VIRTUALLY SPEAKING
Published: Jun 1, 2020
Your kids will be singing, dancing and acting while learning from experienced theater instructors who have mastered the Zoom teaching environment. A one-week Virtual Broadway Intensive, designed for the ultimate Broadway fan, will feature master classes with Broadway professionals. A four-week Summer Theater Camp experience with The Performance Project School of the Arts will keep campers engaged and get them moving – and conclude with a Broadway revue livestreamed from the Broward Center.
The Virtual Broadway Intensive is a week-long program designed for the ultimate Broadway fan. For five consecutive days there will be new discoveries, active learning, and artistic creation, all while exploring the multi-faceted world of Broadway! The program will be led by Broward Center Artist-In Residence Tammy Holder, Education Programs Manager Tim Maynes, and guest dance instructor Michael Stanek. The immersive experience will provide small group instruction, specialized sessions covering different facets of the Broadway experience including choreography, directing, technical theater as well as daily interactive masterclasses with Broadway professionals. Session one runs June 15 -19. Register now.
For our four-week Summer Theater Camp, we’ve teamed up with Nina Felice and The Performance Project School of the Arts to create a dynamic virtual experience that will offer students the chance to study singing, dancing and acting while rehearsing for a Broadway revue. Campers will have a solo part and participate in several group numbers, enjoy theater games and themed arts & crafts before camp culminates in a revue to be live streamed from the Broward. Dates for Session 1 are June 22-July 17. Plans for Session 2 are still evolving. Register now.
Thanks to the continued support of JM Family Enterprises, more than 30 deserving students will receive scholarships to attend our summer camp programs this year.
