Arts for Action: Black Voices
Call for Artists
The Arts for Action: Black Voices initiative aims to use the arts as a catalyst to heighten awareness, deepen knowledge, create connections and elevate the voices of Black creatives in our South Florida community.
The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is seeking Black performers residing in the tri-county area for paid performance opportunities as part of our Arts for Action: Black Voices initiative. In the 2022/2023 season, the Broward Center will be presenting a series of events including dance, music, spoken word and comedy for our traditional performance spaces and an outdoor festival, Rhythm by the River, scheduled for March 19, 2023 in Esplanade Park.
All applicants for the Broward Center’s Arts for Action: Black Voices Series must meet the following criteria:
- Reside in Broward, Palm Beach or Miami-Dade County;
- Demonstrate experience in producing public performances.
All applicants for the Broward Center’s Arts for Action: Black Voices Series must:
- Complete the application form;
- Provide a video submission* of past work along with completed application;
- Include website, social media channels and/or booking references.
*If a video submission is not available, contact artsforaction@browardcenter.org for support.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. All applications submitted by:
- September 30, 2022 will be reviewed and applicants notified by November 15, 2022;
- November 15, 2022 will be reviewed and applicants notified by February 15, 2023;
- February 15, 2023 will be reviewed and applicants notified by May 15, 2023.
