Video Surveillance System
For safety and security reasons, the Performing Arts Center Authority makes use of video surveillance systems in our facilities. Video surveillance systems are primarily used to record access at building entrances, interior access points, and frequent traffic or access areas. Video surveillance cameras are also used to provide surveillance of the exterior of the building.
Video surveillance may encompass employee work areas and patron access areas, but is never used in areas where employees or patrons would have reasonable expectations of privacy, such as restrooms, changing rooms or locker rooms. The video surveillance system is not intended for use as a method of tracking the work habits or productivity of individual employees.
Management of Video Surveillance Systems
The Performing Arts Center Authority is responsible for the management of all video surveillance systems used on our premises and all such use is encompassed in this policy. No use may be made of video surveillance equipment (including personal equipment) not installed by PACA or approved by PACA.
Video Surveillance Monitoring and Recording
The video surveillance systems are capable of being monitored from the Security Desk and remotely by selected management and security personnel. Security officers generally view video surveillance cameras on a periodic basis or in response to a specific incident. All video surveillance cameras are capable of being recorded continuously by a digital video recording system. Recorded video is used for security and safety incidents and retained for a limited time. In addition, footage from video surveillance may be shared with law enforcement agencies, either in recorded form or in real time.
Employees with Access to Video Surveillance
All personnel employed by PACA or otherwise engaged by PACA are required to acknowledge and agree that no access to or use of Video Surveillance Monitoring and Recording will be made in a manner inconsistent with this policy.
