Young Professionals Summer Theater Camp Scholarship 2025
The Performance Project’s financial need and talent-based scholarship


Accepting Applications
The Performance Project School of the Arts’ Young Professionals Scholarship provides financial assistance for students ages 13-18 to attend the Young Professionals summer theater camp group. Students must submit an audition video and a scholarship application to be considered for a scholarship. The deadline to apply is March 10, 2025, for BOTH the audition and the scholarship. You will be notified as to your acceptance by March 14, 2025.
Acceptance and eligibility are determined at the sole discretion of The Performance Project School of the Arts. Full or partial scholarships will be awarded. Please read all the information carefully before applying.
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM
Young Professionals Program: A Pre-Professional Summer Camp Experience:
Join the Young Professionals and discover your full potential on stage! Offering a unique and challenging summer experience for aspiring young performers, this intensive program combines advanced techniques with exciting performance opportunities, providing a taste of the professional theater world.
Ages:
- Rising 9th grade to 12th grade
- With approval, prospective campers could be a rising 8th grader if previously enrolled in class or camp.
Key Features:
- Pre-Professional Training: Immerse yourself in a demanding and rewarding program designed to hone your skills.
- Industry Insights: Gain valuable knowledge and practical experience in the competitive world of theater.
- High-Quality Production: Participate in a fully staged production of Mary Poppins, showcasing your talent to the community.
- Unforgettable Memories: Create lasting friendships and memories with fellow passionate performers.
New for 2025:
- Intensive Training: Two workshops and guest artist master classes per week, covering a diverse range of skills including vocal technique, dance styles, acting methods, and more.
- Industry Immersion: In-depth audition seminar and "getting into the biz" practicum during the first week, equipping campers with the tools to navigate the professional theater world and to ace those college auditions.
- Professional Headshots: A photo shoot with a professional photographer to capture stunning headshots for each camper's portfolio (photos available for purchase).
As In Previous Years:
- Showcase Your Talent: 6 captivating performances for the public, providing invaluable stage experience.
- Soar to New Heights: Learn the art of flying with our expert flying effects coordinator.
- Prestigious Production: By audition only for the beloved classic, Mary Poppins.
Locations:
- Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, FL
- The Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center in Davie, FL
Camp and show schedule for Broward Center for the Performing Arts - Fort Lauderdale:
- Camp Dates: June 9 - July 3, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm (Extra camp hours from 8am-9am and 4pm-6pm are available and included in the scholarship award).
- Show Dates: July 2-3, July 5
- Take note that our final show is on a Saturday.
Camp and Show Schedule for Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at NSU- Davie:
- Camp Dates: June 16 - July 11, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm (Extra camp hours from 8am-9am and 4pm-6pm are available and included in the scholarship award).;
- Show Dates: July 10-12
- Take note that our final show is on a Saturday.
AUDITION VIDEO INFORMATION
What to include:
- Monologue: 1 minute
- Singing: 1 minute of a show tune (sung to a track or piano accompaniment music).
- NO VOCALS. Use only the camera mic and not a handheld microphone.
Video formats accepted:
- YouTube link/URL
- Google Drive link/URL
- A digital video file in either .mp4, .mp3, .MOV or .WMV format
